Located 15 km from Plombières-les-Bains, Remiremont can be proud of its exceptional geographical location, a real European intersection on the Benelux-Basel axis at the junction of the Moselle, Moselotte, Combeauté and the Augronne. The city, served by the East TGV, exerts its influence on a large part of the Hautes-Vosges. City steeped in history, the latter on creation in the seventh century. by Romaric (noble of the Court of Austrasia) and Amé (Monk preacher of Saint Columban) of a feminine religious community dedicated initially to the prayer and the meditation which will become in the 11th century a Noble Chapter. Embellished for several centuries by its Ladies Chanoinesses, the city has developed in perfect harmony with its Abbey of Dames Nobles - which radiated on all courts of Europe - and whose Abbess sat on the diet of the Holy Roman Empire with rank Princess and depended only on the Pope spiritually. From this glorious past, Remiremont has preserved and showcased its rich heritage concentrated around its historic center and composed of the church of the chapter of the Ladies of the thirteenth century and its Romanesque crypt of the eleventh century, classified MHZ, the abbey palace eighteenth century classical style, and canonical houses of the same style. Modern city, called "La Coquette", it combines the pleasure of relaxation with its large arcaded street containing many shops, the practice of leisure activities with a water and fun center, an equestrian center, a cinema, a landscaped water, and a multi-activity track (walking, cycling, rollerblading, roller skiing in summer, cross-country skiing in winter.) called "Voie Verte" which offers two 30 km secure trails.
