The stele of Noirgueux commemorates the crossing of the Moselle by soldiers of the 36th American Infantry Division on 21.09.1944, at the so-called Noirgueux site, who fought there at the risk of their lives to liberate the city of Remiremont. A commemorative ceremony with realistic reconstructions is held every year on the anniversary date. An educational trail dedicated to the Noirgueux moraine has been created by the municipality of Saint-Nabord.
