Commune de Lembach
1 route de Bitche67510 Lembach
At the beginning of the 13th Century the Ettendorf family controlled Lembach. In 1327 the Fleckenstein family became vassals of the Ettendorfs and so took possession of the right hand bank of the Sauer with the church and the mill. The Fleckensteins held Lembach right up to the French Revolution. Throughout this period the economic and religious life of the village was controlled by this great feudal family of North Alsace. The 1930s witnessed renewed prosperity with the building of the fortresses of the Maginot Line.
