40 destinations with the Station Verte label to explore in the Vosges Mountains

Take the time to discover a destination and meet the locals, while showing respect to the sites you visit and leaving them untouched. Respect and preserve, without a trace. The "green resorts" of the Station Verte label have been defending these values since its beginnings in 1964. In the network's 500 towns, tourism professionals are devoted to working together to promote nature tourism and to put a human face on the values of sharing, proximity, and respect for locals and for the land.

« The Station Verte spirit is tourism with a human face, weaving links between Nature, Land, and People. »

Station Verte is committed to ecotourism by…

• developing activities that enhance and preserve natural, cultural, or intangible heritage,
• offering sustainable and informative initiatives on environmental education and awareness,
• offering activities related to well-being and rejuvenation,
• focusing on local tourism: 60% of Station Verte towns are within two hours of an urban area with a population over 100,000,
• promoting local products, short supply chains, and local know-how,
• contributing to the well-being of local communities and improving the living environment,
• promoting the development of benevolent tourism respecting people and the land,
• developing slow tourism, tourist itineraries, and soft mobility.

The French Federation of Stations Vertes, the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park, and the Vosges Mountains are all committed to sustainable and respectful tourism. An outstanding project combining touring, slow tourism, and discovering the rich heritage of the land. Get pedalling!

The beginnings of the project

The project for these getaway itineraries, Escapades, began in 2019, as part of the coordination efforts of the Station Verte network. It was led by the director of the Federation of Stations Vertes in partnership with the president of the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park. The project enlisted the cooperation of elected officials and employees in ten Stations Vertes of six community councils in the departments of Haute-Saône and Vosges, and the regions of Bourgogne Franche-Comté and Grand-Est.

« A getaway is the action of leaving somewhere to escape the obligations and routine of everyday life. »
