Autumn fades and winter is reborn.
Where there are mountains, there are firs. And where there's winter, there's snow. Our dear Vosges Mountains don't stray from these rules. Vast pristine plains stretching as far as the eye can see, little chalets with smoking chimneys, trees on snow-capped peaks: it's a real-life fairy-tale setting.
Venture out on the upper mountain pastures and leave your tracks behind, whether with skis, snowshoes, or simply your boots. Surrounded by beautiful fir trees, you might come across works of art made by fellow walkers. There's a whole regiment of snowmen living in the forests of the Vosges Mountains!
At nightfall, when the winter sports are done for the day, the chalets light up and everyone cosies up to the fire to listen to fanciful stories. A chance to get together, share, and celebrate before starting a new year.
